Niterói, 13 Km from Rio de Janeiro.

Piratininga Beach in the Niterói City, considered one of the best views of the Rio de Janeiro City.

In this city, the MAC (Contemporary Art Museum), designed by Oscar Niemeyer, relies one of the most important art collection of the Brazil (João Satamini).

Itacoatiara is the best beach of Niterói and also is a surfer's paradise: lush vegetation, bluish waters and endemic species. Take a look at this photo below. Here is located the Serra da Tiririca State Park, wich extends by Niterói and Maricá. Charles Darwin visited some places of this Park in 1832.

Above, the Niterói's lakes and beaches by Alto Mourão. This rock seems the Sugar Loaf rock, but it is higher (photo below). Above the first beach on the left is Itacoatiara, after is Itaipú's beach and lagoon, Camboinhas Beach, Sossego Beach, Piratininga's beach and lake, entrance of the Guanabara Bay, then Rio de Janeiro City.
